Embrace the Children is:

A voluntary organization of predominately lay Catholic believers dedicated to renewing the family focus and family responsibility. We are led by the Magisterium of the Catholic Church and are guided by our local Bishops, Pastors and Spiritual Directors. We are dedicated and commissioned to share our Christian values with others through our Christ like example. We immerse everything we do in prayer.

Mission Statement

We, the members of "Embrace the Children" commit ourselves to evangelizing the family by the power of the Holy Spirit and as witnessed by the Holy Family. This mission is to be consistent with the Catholic Church’s teachings of Vatican II decreed on the Apostolate of the Laity, Chapter 3 Paragraph 11 which states, "The family has received from God its mission to be the first and vital cell of society. It will fulfill this mission if it shows itself to be the domestic sanctuary of the Church through the mutual affection of its members and the common prayer they offer to God." To this end, we commit ourselves to:

• Serve God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit by serving the Catholic Church in its primary mission.
• Through prayer, invoking the powerful intercession of Mary, the Mother of Jesus, and consecrate our mission to Her in union with St. Joseph.
• Foster programs that bring unity, love and joy to the family.
• Promote through education the awareness and understanding of the necessity of the family.
• Relate to and work with other Catholic organizations and movements serving the mission of the Church.
• Relate to and work with members of other Christian churches.

Faith in Action

• We promote family oriented activities through concerts, plays and other means of evangelizing entertainment.
• We provide spiritual days of renewal for women.
• We offered opportunities to youth through summer camps and monthly outreaches to children of need in the Cincinnati area.
• We have fostered relationship building between youth from different ethnic and social backgrounds.
• We have supported financially the building of twelve "Life Centers" in the Sudan. This outreach provides places of shelter, education and worship for the dislocated oppressed Sudanese men, women and children.
• Our Future Goal is develop and implement plans for a Family Life Center where families and young people can meet in a non-threatening Christian atmosphere. Our facilities will include a Coffee House where books, tapes and entertainment can be found that build up the family and give special attention to our youth.
